We take a look at some of the best masks from PlayStation characters…
Marvel’s Spider-Man
While we all know it is Peter Parker under there, the classic Spider-Man mask that goes along with his suit hasn’t ever stopped being cool. It is impressive to be able to keep rocking a look dating all the way to the 1960s. While his suit may change from time to time, Spidey always stays classy.
Persona 5
Each of phantom thieves has their own mask to go with their outfit in order to hide their identity as they try to steal the hearts of the unjust. All of them uniquely reflect the personalities and characters of the excellent cast, making it hard to pick one favourite, but skull-masked best boy Ryuji stole our hearts during our adventure.
Tekken 7
Nothing proves you are the King more than being known for wearing a realistic animal mask while you wrestle. King is rarely seen without his trademark jaguar mask. The character is actually inspired by real-life 1980s wrestler Tiger Mask, who was himself inspired by the 1960s manga of the same name.
Dishonoured
When you are on a deadly revenge quest assassinating your targets one by one, it isn’t a great idea to let everyone know who you are. Enter Corvo Attano’s marvellous mechanical skull mask. Armoured and with a telescopic sight, it is functional, but the important thing about it is what it represents – a swift execution from the shadows.
Crash Bandicoot
As far as platformers go, the Crash games can be some of the hardest. But just imagine how hard they would be without the ever-trusty Aku-Aku at your side, ready to take a hit in your place and help you crash through some tricky areas. Power him up enough and he will even make you invincible. Except from pitfalls that is…
Hotline Miami
Your jacket-wearing hero wears a mask for his brutal, neon-infused, pulse-pounding killing spree missions Each unlockable mask confers a different advantage, offering a lot of variety in how you approach each kill. The pick of the bunch has to be Don Juan, who makes every door strike completely lethal. Time to kick some doors open.
Metal Gear Solid
It takes a lot to take something as basic as a gas mask and make it iconic, but few gamers can ever look at one the same way after Psycho Mantis’ boss fight in the original Metal Gear Solid. The physic taunted us, voice distorted through the mask as he toyed with the console and TV, forcing us to think outside the box.
Friday The 13th: The Game
Iconic horror movie villain Jason might just be the scariest hockey fan in the world. While he might be a big, intimidating man, one lucky player in this game version of the movie gets to control the killer as he menaces a group of teens at camp.
Hitman: Blood Money
Our favourite bald-headed assassin can be our devil or our angel thanks, in part, to the duo of masks in the mission A Dance With The Devil. Infiltrating a hedonistic party for the rich that comprises a Heaven area at the top of a skyscraper and a Hell one in the Basement, 47 must mask up to remain properly incognito.
